Heroes are born out of circumstance, and during this global pandemic, we have seen no shortage of people willing to put their own health at risk, for the benefit of others. These include those on the front line, such as doctors, nurses, health care professionals, firefighters, paramedics and law enforcement.
The South Bay Runners Club has created OPERATION S.B.R.C. (Support our Brave Responders in the Community). We are collecting funds that will be used to purchase meals from local restaurants for these heroes. Thus we are also supporting our local restaurant community, which is really struggling, to continue to pay their employees.
In this me of crisis, we ask that you support our brave responders by donating whatever you are able, whether it’s $5, $10, $25, $50, $100. Look at it as the cost of a race entry.
100% of every dollar donated will be used for meal purchases in SUPPORT of our local restaurants and first responders in our South Bay community. As SBRC is a 501(c)(3), the entire amount donated is tax deductible.
Our first beneficiary will be Torrance Memorial Hospital.
Note: if you are a front line healthcare worker, firefighter, or police office and would like us to consider your department to be a recipient, please let us know.
This is a WIN WIN for both our local restaurants as well as our first responders. As athletes, we know what it is like to want to WIN!
On behalf of the running community, and everyone in the South Bay Runners Club, we THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
South Bay Runners Club
